OnTimeRoutes

About OnTimeRoutes

OnTimeRoutes answers one question for travelers: how likely is this flight to be on time? Airlines publish on-time rates for their whole network, but your trip is one route. We break the government’s flight-by-flight records down by route, airline, airport, time of day and day of week, so you can choose the flight most likely to get you there.

Who we are

OnTimeRoutes is an independent flight-data project. The OnTimeRoutes team builds and maintains the data pipeline, checks every monthly release from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and writes the methodology behind every number on the site. Questions and corrections: see our contact page.

Independent

We are not affiliated with any airline, airport, booking site or government agency. Airlines cannot pay to change their rankings. The site is funded by advertising, which is always labeled.

Our data

Every statistic comes from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ on-time database, which US airlines are required to file for every domestic nonstop flight. When the DOT publishes a new month (about two months after it ends), the site updates automatically. Read exactly how every number is calculated in our methodology.
